70 Year Old Yakusa Gang Found Living in Thailand Illegally for More Than 10 Years after Killing Opponent


An elderly man has been detained after discovering links to Yakuza  in Japan and living in Thailand illegally for more than 10 years.

The man, known as Shigai Shirai, is a 74-year-old brother of the Yakuza criminal group. The group has dozens of members worldwide and financially finance the opening of gambling, drug trafficking, and other offenses.

Shirai was indicted for murder in 2003 after killing an opponent.

After the allegations, the perpetrator has left the country to hide in Thailand since 2005 and has been living in the country for years to escape the eyes of international police.

Upon arriving on a picnic, a local resident found a rare tattoo on his body, and posted on social media with more than 10,000 people sharing.

The popularity on social media has been reported to international police, in cooperation with local authorities, identifying the perpetrator, and reaching his detention in Lobori province.

The man was charged of  illegally living in Thailand and the authority is waiting for immigration police to return him to Japan to confess his guilt before the law.
